The low cost vision of WhatsApp and Facebook’s consent


WhatsApp continues to be subject to scrutiny by the European Union’s data protection regulators. They claim that the Facebook company has not responded to concerns raised by its privacy policy, after “a long time has passed.”

Article 29, which brings together the different privacy authorities in Europe, sent a letter to WhatsApp co-founder Jan Koum. The latter informed him of the creation of a working group led by the British Commission for Information.
